Dr. Barbara Martin, Ed.D. - Principal at Gwinnett County Public Schools (Board Member)
Dr. Martin began her educational career in 1979 and is currently the principal for the ADAPT-STRIVE program in Gwinnett County. This is Dr. Martin's 31st year with Gwinnett County Public Schools. She has exclusively worked with individuals with special needs her entire career that ranges from infants to young adults between the ages of 18 and 22. She earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Samford University, an Ed.S. in Early Childhood at Georgia State, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership at Troy State University and her Bachelor's degree in Special Education at the University of West Florida. Prior to Gwinnett County, Dr. Martin has worked in Louisiana and Texas as a teacher of students with emotional and behavioral disorders, autism and intellectual disabilities.
Dr. Martin lives in Lawrenceville with her husband and 16 year old grandson. She has 5 adult children and 5 grandchildren, with whom she loves spending her free time.
